SUICIDE AWARENESS AND PREVENTION PROGRAMMING IN NSBORO
Signs of Suicide (SOS) is an evidence-based suicide prevention program for adolescents.
Students in 7th, 9th, and 11th grade will participate in this program as part of our Wellness programming.
When teens are struggling with depression or thoughts of suicide, it is common for them to turn to each other. This is why it’s important for every student to know when to ACT (ACKNOWLEDGE the signs of suicide or depression, Show that you CARE, and TELL an adult).
School Nursing
School nursing is a specialized practice of nursing that protects and promotes student health, facilitates optimal development, and advances academic success. School nurses, grounded in ethical and evidence-based practice, are the leaders who bridge health care and education, provide care coordination, advocate for quality student-centered care, and collaborate to design systems that allow individuals and communities to develop their full potential. (National Association of School Nurses 2/2017)
The Public Schools of Northborough and Southborough Health Services strive to ensure that all students and staff reach their optimal state of wellness. Our highly qualified nursing staff are available in each school to foster the growth, development and educational achievement of all students by promoting social, emotional and physical health and wellness. Your child's physical and emotional health and well-being are our top priorities. Please feel free to contact your school nurse at any time with any questions, concerns or health updates.

Healthy and Balanced Learners in NSBORO
CASEL Core Competencies
What is SEL?
“Social emotional learning is the process through which all young people and adults acquire and apply the knowledge, skills, and attitudes to develop healthy identities, manage emotions and achieve personal and collective goals, feel and show empathy for others, establish and maintain supportive relationships, and make responsible and caring decisions.
