We have planned a full night of activities and wanted to provide you with an overview of the events, so that you will be able to navigate the evening in a manner that will best suit the needs of your child. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
NSBoro Reads Community Celebration
Algonquin Regional High School Library
79 Bartlett Street
Northborough, MA
February 3, 2026
5:30 pm - 7:30 pm
5:30 pm: Doors open. Please enter through the front of the building near the cafeteria. There will be Reading Ambassadors there to welcome you and direct you. Each child will receive a bingo card, scavenger hunt sheet, raffle ticket, and map to navigate all of the activities.
6:00 pm and 6:30 pm: Community Readers. Members of our community have volunteered to share stories with your children. If your child is afraid or allergic to dogs, therapy dog Parker will be with his handler Mrs. Amberson and Officer Sullivan may have Marshall.
7:00 pm: Raffle Pulls and Treats. Each person will receive a free raffle ticket. There are ten theme baskets (including one for adults) that participants can decide to put their tickets in. Please remember to keep half of the ticket; we will not be having people write names on the tickets. You will need to be present to win.
Ongoing Activities:
Library Card Sign-Up: The Public Libraries of Northborough and Southborough will be here to issue library cards to any community member who would like one. It’s the one card everyone should have in their wallet.
Photo Booth: We have set up two spaces where people can have pictures taken to remember the night. If you are on Instagram, please use the hashtag @nsbororeads.
Bookmark Making: Students will be able to create their own bookmarks to take home.
Bingo for Books: Designed for even the youngest readers, get five in a row, exclaim BINGO!, and take a book home as your prize.
Character Scavenger Hunt: There will be 16 stuffed animals from popular children’s stories placed around the library. Participants will be challenged to find all 16. Please do not let the kids touch or move the stuffed characters. If all 16 characters are located, participants can select a prize.
Green Screen Book Covers: Insert yourself in one of five book covers. For the best results, do not wear green clothing. We expect this to be a popular activity. Please communicate with your child that they will be able to make one book cover, but they can make a second later in the evening, if there is time. For simplicity, we will be sharing images through students’ school accounts.
Button Making: Participants will be able to design their own commemorative button and take it home with them.
Reading Under the Stars: An alternative space will be available in the library for participants who need a quieter space to enjoy the evening. We will be bringing the outside in.
